ChosenFamilies.org is a non-profit, charitable organization registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia and approved by the Internal Revenue Service to provide information to parents, family members, religious leaders and the general public on effective solutions to living in families with hidden disabilities.
The purpose of ChosenFamilies.org is to help families living with hidden disabilities become fully incorporated into the body of Christ. Our mission is to provide resources, connections and encouragement to families with hidden disabilities and to educate and provide resources to religious leaders as they minister to families with these needs. ChosenFamilies.org is a community where people can exchange creative ideas to meet the challenges of living and prospering within a family with special needs. We endeavor to inform, educate, inspire, motivate, and encourage families and churches in this vitally important mission.
The Board of ChosenFamilies.org consists currently of the following members.
Marjorie Dannenfelser is President and Chairman of the Board of the Susan B. Anthony List, a national organization dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. As President, Marjorie directs the mission of Susan B. Anthony List, is the chief strategist, and serves as its primary spokeswoman. Under her leadership, the organization has grown to over 280,000 members and activists nationwide.
Marjorie serves on the boards of the Alliance Defense Fund and the Constituting Culture Foundation. Prior to launching the Susan B. Anthony List, Marjorie served on Capitol Hill as staff director of the Congressional Pro-life Caucus. Previous to her work on Capitol Hill, she worked at the Heritage Foundation. She is originally from North Carolina and is a graduate of Duke University. Marjorie lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband Marty and their five children, ages 8-17.
Dale Wallace is a Partner in the law firm of Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt, L.L.C., in Birmingham, Alabama. He has practiced law for over three decades, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions, and emerging businesses. He has worked with, or provided legal counsel to, dozens of non-profits and has assisted several hundred churches in a diverse range of issues. Mr. Wallace has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Alabama, teaching courses in leadership and social justice.
Dale and Ginger have five children: Trey, Jon, Brooks, Ginny and Callie. They are members of Huffman Baptist Church, where Dale has served in a variety of leadership positions.
Eric L. Johnson is Lawrence and Charlotte Hoover Professor of Pastoral Care at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he has taught for 10 years. He is also the director of the Society for Christian Psychology (SCP), a division of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Eric is an associate editor of Edification (the journal of the SCP) the Journal of Psychology and Theology, the Journal of Psychology and Christianity, and the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care and has contributed articles to journals. In addition to editing Psychology and Christianity: Five Views, he has written Foundations for Soul Care: A Christian Psychology Proposal, a textbook about distinctively Christian psychotherapy and counseling
Eric is married to Rebekah and they have two adult children, Laura and Iain. He and wife are members at Lagrange Baptist Church, where Eric also counsels part-time and co-leads an adult class at his church.
Shannon Royce is President & C.E.O. of ChosenFamilies.org. Prior to founding the organization, Shannon served in various pro-family organizations as a public policy advocate. Among her experiences were the privilege to serve as the founding Executive Director of the Arlington Group, a pro-family coalition, and as Director of Public Policy and Legislative Counsel for the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. Prior to her work with the Southern Baptist Convention she served two Senators as a policy advisor. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University School of Law and is licensed to practice (currently Associate status) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Shannon and Bill have two boys and live in Falls Church, Virginia. She has been actively involved in Falls Church as an advocate for children with special needs and serves as the Chairman of her local Special Education Advisory Committee.
