First, I’m certain you’d like to know what in the world the title of my blog means… but we will get to that. Let me tell you about me.
I was raised in a relatively small town, with loving parents and in a small church, where I stayed for most of my years. I moved to the proverbial “big city” to go to college… and a few years and a degree later, moved back to the small town I swore I’d never go back to.
I am 31 years old, and happily married to the sweetest man I’ve ever met (aside from my dad). After a few honeymoon years, we were blessed with our sweet little G-man. Fast forward one year and two weeks later, and our twins were born. G-man is now almost 6 and finishing up Kindergarten. The twins, Sassy and Tiny, have grown into rowdy 4 year olds. Sassy is just what her name implies—the sassiest little girl you can imagine; and Tiny is her sweet (yet rambunctious), tiny little brother counterpart. Our house is in rare form when it does NOT resemble a three ring circus….. but I love being a mom! Our sweet G-man was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome plus Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at 5 years old. We are new in this diagnosis, and hopefully I can share some part of my journey and learning experience that will help someone else along the way.
I am a medical professional in a high intensity, acute care pediatric intensive care unit, as is my husband.
We are an active family, and love waterskiing, boating, and biking. I also like to run. I’m not very good at it, but I do enjoy it.
I love coffee, and shopping!
I am supported by a wonderful extended family, and surrounded by fabulous friends and a loving church family who all keep us going on this wild journey. And this is from whence my title comes. My husband and many friends often lovingly refer to me as “Wonder Woman,” and sometimes I think everyone’s favorite thing to say to me is, “I don’t know HOW you do it!!”…… and so I will ask, “then where’s my cape?” I would love to share a little piece of our journey as a family, which, ironically, usually consists of my mishaps as a mommy attempting to parent three young children. I am by no stretch of the imagination a super hero, or even a super Mommy, but I’m a Mommy to some super kids. And a super God gave me this job. With Him, I cannot fail!
